Dreamstar Lines Garners $100,000 Investment from SouthernCalifornia Real Estate Leader Bill Lyon

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – March 25, 2025 – Dreamstar Lines, the firm that is transforming the rail travel experience, has announced an investment in the company by Bill Lyon. Lyon served in senior executive positions for more than 20 years with William Lyon Homes, the highly successful homebuilder founded in 1954 by his father Gen. William Lyon. William Lyon Homes was acquired by Taylor Morrison in 2020.
Lyon has made a $100,000 infusion into Dreamstar Lines in support of its mission to offer a unique overnight luxury train service over key medium-distance routes. This investment echoes Williiam Lyon’s interest in the transportation sector as co-purchaser of AirCal in the 1980s and founder of the Lyon Air Museum at John Wayne Airport in Newport Beach, Calif. Planned uses of the funds include general financial support with a focus on securing track agreements for routes targeted by the company.

The Dreamstar concept is intended to address the drawbacks of travel by traditional rail, airlines, automobiles and buses. These modes are fraught with challenges including crowded transportation hubs, stopovers, aging vehicles, inconvenience, stress and minimal amenities. Passengers not only avoid those issues with Dreamstar, but spend less waking time traveling as they will be able to restfully sleep for most of their journey in an elegant environment.
Potential users of this service include business travelers, families and tourists and anyone else dissatisfied with existing travel options. The initial route planned for Dreamstar service will be between Los Angeles and San Francisco.
